A real beauty (that means beauty in ancient Greek). The Calla Lilies are used in weddings, funerals and anything in between. They symbolize purity, faith and dignity. In Greek mythology the Calla Lilies were believed to have grown from drops of milk that fell from Hera’s breast. Don’t let the name Lily fool you, the Calla Lily comes from the Arum family and is closer to the Anthurium than the Lilies.
in culture- A beautiful painting by Georgia O'Keeffe was painted in 1928, and is called “Two Calla Lillies on pink”. The painting helped classify the Calla Lily as sensual and timeless.
